Farming Skill Points in the FPE
I was wondering who out here farmed skill points this weekend to reduce the grind that they'd have to do upon release for those of us who don't have 300 unused skill points sitting around. The trick was to repeat "Befriending the Luxons/Kurzicks," a 10K XP quest, and another quest, over and over again to unlock as many skills as possible. Once you got going, you could unlock a skill every ten minutes for free as well as hitting up a chest on the way for free, potentially unlocking assassin weapons and getting a sweet weapon for free.
I probably unlocked 30 skills in this method, and I wish I'd done more. Oh well, time to grind Trolls for XP to save up skill points in the meantime. Oh, how I love grind.

W/R was great for that; Sprint, Stormchaser, Endure Pain, Troll Unguent, Healing Signet. That's all. 10/8/12 Strength/Tactics/Wilderness.
The run to Cavalon was just a long run, and you could simply alternate stances.
The run to House zu Heltzer was a bit more complicated, particularly on the second half, when you had to time your movements so that you wouldn't get hit by None Shall Pass.
All in all, I probably grabbed 20+ skills that way.

I went 12/12 Strength/Wildnerness Survival with only 3 skills.
Storm Chaser, Sprint, Endure Pain. Just had to stay away from Rot Wallows and their nasty damage.
I unlocked all the Ranger skills that were available. I would have unlocked all Warrior skills, too, except when I war, it's on on my PvE guy, Slash Dot.

Thats exactly what I did. Befriending the Kurzicks, and on the way there you get a quest needed to travel there, and then Melodic Gaki flute quest. Got most of the Assassin skills unlocked. Glad I wasn't the only one to figure this out. Oh, I used an A/R the whole time. Spirit Walk was so handy for that run.
I also had 550 gold left over each run so I'd give it to someone waiting in Marketplace AD1. I didn't start doing that until I was just about finished with my runs though, so the person only got like 2k.

You should have bought keys. I did Befriending the Luxons & the Aspenwood quest (can't remember the exact one), and you ended up getting 950 gold total. 50 for the skill point, 600 for the key, and 50 something for the ID kit. I only unlocked a couple of dagger mods, but it was worth it since they were right on the way to Aspenwood.

Hmm, my quest got me 700 gold. I got the gold pretty much at the end, right at House Zu Heltzer, and then I just needed to run past one group of Dredge and some Mantises before I killed the Maki to get the rest of my exp. Even if I wanted to buy a key I couldn't have. I spent 100 gold talking to the Kurzick priest to get +3 regen and 25 max hp. That lowered me to exactly 600 and I needed 50 for the skill.
Oh well. I have my preorder daggers to use until I get something better.
